California Badminton Academy, June-July 2013
During summer 2013, Jamie had the opportunity to coach at the California Badminton Academy (CBA); an 18 court club in Fremont, California. It was an action packed trip where he coached 45 kids between Under 9-19 who were preparing for the US Junior nationals. Jamie learned from working alongside 2 former US Olympians: Bob Malaythong & Raju Rai, plus shared his own knowledge with the dedicated squad.
At the US Junior Nationals, CBA won a large medal haul at every age group, which was very special for Jamie & the club. A visit to Los Angeles followed, where he met the Dunn family, plus Robert Blair & Imogen Bankier who were competing in the US Open.
It was an amazing experience which Jamie hopes will lead to more work with CBA & US badminton in the future. Please see some highlights from his visit in the gallery below.
